10 days in costa blanca

Day 1

Reached Valencia in less than 2 hours train journey from Madrid. But the car rental took close to 3 hours at the Valencia train station. Drove to our ultra all inclusive resort at Gandia and checked in.

Day 2

Relax @ pool, beach. Had Long Island ice tea among other things. More food n more drinks.

Day 3

Typical resort day – eat, drink, pool, eat, drink, beach, eat, drink, now what? Drove to the nearest town- Gandia? Beautiful wall arts, play area for kids, Mercado, and nice walking street from the water fountains and a modern bridge overlooking the river, palace, and more wall art.

Day 4

Immediately after breakfast, drove to a monastery at Simat. It was beautiful and surprisingly free. Came back for lunch and later went to Gandia beach. Back for dinner.

Day 5

Checked out from resort, had last lunch there and drove towards Alicante. On the way stopped at Calpe and Altea. Checked in Alicante hotel with tempting pool view. Skipped dinner after all that eating at the resort.

Day 6

Swimming first thing in the morning and Alicante in the afternoon/evening. Started with the castle, then walked around in the old town. Watched a festival parade with people wearing colorful traditional costumes. Had lunch in castle cafe and dinner at an Indian restaurant.

Day 7

Drive to Xàtiva. Parked directly at the castle and explored the castle. Drove further towards Valencia and checked in the Airbnb next to arts and science city. Then went on a walk in Turin gardens and arts and science city.

Day 8

Walked through the Turia garden to Valencia old town. On the way stopped at gulliver park. Walked around in the old town the whole day, had lunch in Mercado, admired the churches, street art, and later took at taxi back to the Airbnb.

Day 9

Drove to Albufera, did boating and had Valencian paella. Drove to port saplaya (Venice of Valencia), spend sometime at the beach before returning to Airbnb. Later went on an evening stroll in city of arts and science.

Day 10

Packed up and checked out. Walked around in the city of arts and science, this time in daylight. Walked to the old town again, this time through the city admiring the bridges over the Turia garden. Had lunch, did some shopping, stopped by the bull ring and later took a taxi to return to our rental car to drive to the airport.
